Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21, 1983. Maggie Grace is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. The couple had separated and she moved with her mom to Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first acting gig as Rachel's Room's main character the web-based video show Rachel's Room in 2001. In 2002, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford's role she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was keen to pursue film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. She played the same role in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace played Shannon's part in Lost for two episodes, which included the final episode of the series. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the sixth Season. The character she plays is Faith who's a star-gazer and the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Gyllenhaal is a member of her family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she played small parts in films made by her father. She also was co-starring with her brother in Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both films received acclaim from critics. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In recognition of her role as a single mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. After that, she went on to appear in comedy films and dramas like Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as The Won't Back Down (12). The other roles she's played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to The Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as director, screenwriter and script writer when she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter.
