John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who specialized in folk pop music touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell new Mexico, but fell in love Colorado. The singer-songwriter eventually moved to Aspen. A few traveled towards Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado as John Denver." In the year 2011, Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people around the world. Certainly in my travels you come across someone on the opposite side of the world one who is from New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the very first thing that comes they say is Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time in folk groups, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff wrote the track for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential the moment he heard it for the first time. The track was released just a few weeks after that Washington D.C. performance.
