Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea is an Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea began her stand-up show in 2011, after appearing as a guest on a variety of Irish television shows and British series since the year 2009. After 2012 she had been performing in sketch comedy shows, sitcoms, and other similar programming. The actress began to appear regularly in panel shows following the win of an award for in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. In 2016 and 2017, she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats team in addition to being a performer of the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. The actress is the child of Brian and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead, her younger sister, was born. In 2012, she was the only woman in history to be awarded the So You Believe you're Funny award. Bea is her surname to honor her late father. Aisling O'Sullivan, also referred to as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian died at the age of three. He was a horse veterinary. Bea wasn't told the details of how he passed before she reached the age of 13. The stage name she chose was Bea to pay tribute to her late father. Bea also wrote an article for The Guardian on her family's suicide experience. Bea as well as her sister Sinead were raised by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) a secondary school teacher, jockey trainer, and professional jockey for a time.
